Our client, a leader in the electrical utility industry, is seeking a Technician Associate to join their team. As a Technician Associate, you will be part of the engineering department supporting various grid modernization and transmission projects. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and a collaborative mindset which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Technician Associate

Location: Fort Wayne, IN

Pay Range: $20-23/hr.

What's the Job?

  • Utilize DDS software to analyze distribution utility poles for grid modernization equipment or line rebuilds.
  • Track due dates for assigned projects and collaborate with the design team and project managers to ensure high-quality designs.
  • Assist in resolving routine problems and provide support to team members as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and prioritize work according to AEP standard planning practices.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, assisting in the preparation of technical reports.

What's Needed?

  • An Associate's Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Civil/Mechanical Engineering Technology or related fields.
  • Ability to read and understand schematic drawings.
  • Comfortable with customer service and data entry tasks.
  • Basic computer literacy and technical knowledge relevant to the position.
  • Willingness to travel across service territory, primarily for day trips.
