SUMMARY

ANSYS, Inc. seeks R&D Engineer II to work in Austin, TX

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The R&D Engineer II contributes to the development of software products and supporting systems.
  • In this role, the R&D Engineer II will collaborate with a team of expert professionals to understand customer requirements and accomplish development objectives.
  • Performs moderately complex development activities, including the design, implementation, maintenance, testing and documentation of software modules and sub-systems.
  • Understands and employs best practices.
  • Performs moderately complex bug verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products.
  • Research problems discovered by QA or product support and develops solutions.
  • Understands the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria and competitive issues.
  • Works under the general supervision of a development manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Applied Optics, Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field of study.
  • Alternate Acceptable Education and Work Experience Requirement: Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Applied Optics, Manufacturing Systems Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field of study, and two (2) years of experience in a related position.
  • Work experience or academic coursework must have included:
  • Experience with Finite Element simulation including Ansys, and CAD modeling and advance meshing techniques;
  • Experience with C++, Python, object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms and front-end UI and web-app;
  • Experience with OpenGL and CUDA
  • Additional work location information: May permit telecommuting from home office within commuting distance to Austin, TX. In office 3 days a week.
