These specialized tools are not available in stores; they are meticulously manufactured to meet specific requirements, tight tolerances, and the precise dimensions of various aircraft engine parts and modules. In this role, you will collaborate with peers both locally and in the United States to identify requirements, design, draft and analyze assembly and disassembly equipment for aircraft engines. You will combine mechanical design, structural mechanics, and engineering principles with CAE software programs, such as CAD and FEA, to create functional, safe, reliable, and manufacturable equipment.

  • As an assembly equipment engineer professional, you are expected to be curious, proactive, and adept at problem-solving. You will exhibit innovation, collaboration, and a continuous improvement mindset, aligning with our company's leadership behaviors and values to achieve our goals.

  • Develop innovative and technically sound design solutions within program schedule milestones, addressing difficult and sometimes complex problems.

  • Create detailed models and technical drawings for assembly and disassembly equipment using NX CAD software, ensuring precision and adherence to specifications.

  • Utilize CORE continuous improvement framework and other tools to continuously improve design processes by analyzing typical defects found in inspections and lead team meetings to find solutions to target these defects.

  • Lead and participate in multi-discipline teams to provide design and mechanical structures solutions that balance customer requirements for safety, cost, and weight.

  • Document and present results in design review meetings with management, internal customers, and external stakeholders such as vendors or customers, as needed.

  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure designs are feasible and cost-effective to produce, providing technical support to resolve any issues.

  • Coach and review the work of lower-level professionals, providing guidance on tasks and assignments to ensure quality and consistency.

  • Ability to interpret and create technical drawings with precision.

  • Understanding in mechanics statics theories, such as free-body diagrams, equilibrium equations, vector decomposition, geometric properties, friction force, rolling resistance, and overturning.

  • Comprehensive understanding and application of mechanics statics, strength of materials, and machine design theories and concepts, including axial, shear, bending, torsion, combined stresses, and buckling.

  • Experience with traditional (predictive) and/or Agile (adaptive) project management tools and techniques, with practical experience in managing projects.

  • Experience with aircraft engine parts.

  • Experience in coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level professionals, providing guidance and ensuring quality.
