Senior Design Engineer (Marine) Our client is seeking a Senior Design Engineer (Marine) to join their dynamic engineering team focused on large-scale fabrication and marine manufacturing. This role is ideal for a highly experienced engineer or naval architect who thrives in both independent and collaborative environments. The right candidate will have a passion for mechanical design, 3D modeling, and technical leadership, and will play a key role in driving the design process from concept through production. This role is fully onsite in Portland, Oregon. Senior Design Engineer (Marine) Responsibilities Develop and refine mechanical and marine system designs using 3D modeling and drafting tools. Translate engineering concepts into detailed production drawings and technical documentation. Support cross-functional project teams by providing technical input and reviewing project milestones. Guide and mentor junior engineers and designers, fostering a culture of collaboration and precision. Review and ensure the accuracy and clarity of models, schematics, and design packages. Participate in project scheduling, design reviews, and coordination meetings to support timely project execution. Operate both independently and under direction to meet complex engineering and production objectives. Senior Design Engineer (Marine) Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Demonstrated experience in mechanical or marine design engineering. Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential; familiarity with ShipConstructor is a strong plus. Background in developing production drawings and detailed 3D models. Working knowledge of project scheduling and workflow coordination. Proven ability to lead technical teams and support the growth of junior staff. Excellent communication and organizational skills.
