Job Description

We are seeking a Principal Design Engineer with 10 years of engineering expertise in designing solenoids and valves. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in pneumatic valve design. The ideal candidate should possess a profound understanding of electromechanical systems and demonstrate a proven track record in product development from concept through production.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of mechanical and fluid system components, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and industry standards.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to ensure manufacturability and smooth product transitions.
• Utilize advanced CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) for modeling, drafting, and detailing mechanical designs.
• Conduct detailed engineering analyses including structural, thermal, fluid dynamic, vibration, and tolerance assessments to validate performance.
• Engage directly with customers to understand technical requirements and provide design leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain awareness of new technologies and trends in mechanical and fluid systems to enhance design practices and product capabilities.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in valve design, design engineering, and SolidWorks.
• Experience with valves, solenoids, fluid systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Strong mechanical analysis skills including thermal, structural, fluid dynamic, vibration, and tolerance assessment.
• Experience in new product development and new product introduction.
• Proficiency in GD&T, project management, and engineering CAD tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of mechanical design experience, including 5+ years working with fluid systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, or similar technologies.
• Strong leadership skills or demonstrated ability to lead projects and guide less experienced engineers.
• Familiarity with design verification tools and methodologies.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proactive problem-solving skills with a strong sense of ownership and attention to detail.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $125000.00/yr.
