About the Role
As a Mechanical Engineer you will provide mechanical design, drafting, and task management support, focusing on custom labeling systems and minor applicator modifications. You will be involved in the design process from inception through production, with an emphasis on customizing existing products to meet customer needs.
Responsibilities
Develop creative design concepts and research technologies to meet project requirements.
Prepare preliminary layouts and gather customer requirements to ensure project success.
Use 3D CAD software to design, detail, and specify components and assemblies.
Prepare technical documentation, including setup sheets, test procedures, and reports.
Lead and support design reviews, ensuring customer alignment throughout the process.
Troubleshoot, test, and validate assemblies, implementing final revisions as needed.
Collaborate with vendors for component sourcing and attend trade shows to stay current with industry trends.
Manage projects to meet schedules, including creating BOMs for Oracle and providing regular status updates to management.
Travel to customer sites for final signoffs (less than 10%).
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Minimum 5 years' experience in mechanical design within the packaging or material handling industry.
Proficiency in CAD software; Autodesk Inventor experience preferred.
Strong task management skills and the ability to handle multiple projects.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with customers, vendors, and team members.
Ability to prepare detailed technical documentation and reports.
Willingness to travel occasionally and stay updated on industry advancements.
