Job Overview:

The Mechanical Engineer serves a critical technical role within the Engineering team. The focus of this job centers around producing timely results that are high quality and accurate. Benefiting from an analytical, inquiring and critical mind, this job requires imagination and strong problem-solving skills, but with a strong technical orientation. The job requires an ability to deal with abstract concepts, systems and ideas and all of that in an organized and self-disciplined way. Intellectual confidence is important in this job and to do it well requires close, hands-on involvement, careful follow-up and very disciplined, and limited, delegation. Essential Job Responsibilities:
  • Support system sales team with the creation of system design concepts
  • Perform engineering calculations and analysis for mechanical components and sub-assemblies
  • Complete 3D mechanical design, simulation, and manufacturing/assembly/user documentation
  • Drive mechanical engineering for proof of concept (POC) and advanced development activities
  • Interaction with project teams as a principal team member with expertise in mechanical design Work closely with procurement and manufacturing teams on BOM management
  • Support system manufacturing and installation at the customer site

Required Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME)
  • 5-10 years of experience in designing, testing and manufacturing electromechanical systems
  • Proven ability to develop system concepts and layout drawings from high-level requirements
  • Demonstrated expertise in machine design and automation concepts/ techniques
  • Strong critical thinking skills with proven ability to troubleshoot and debug issues
  • Demonstrated expertise in 3D CAD and engineering software
  • Demonstrated expertise in the generation of component and assembly drawings (with GD&T)
  • Proven experience in the generation and management of bill of materials (BOM)
  • Proven experience identifying and collaborating with key component manufacturers and suppliers
  • Proven experience generating and executing engineering change orders
  • Proven technical writing experience with a focus on the creation of operator level documentation
  • Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and desire to learn and expand skill set
  • Able to work either independently or in a team in a fast-paced environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing

Job Requisition # 39565 #LI-JN1

A reasonable estimate of the Base Salary for this role is $90,000 - $115,000 per year. The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. The compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case, such as skills and experience levels.
