Maxeon Americas Inc. seeks a Sr. Staff Equipment Development Engineer in San Jose, CA

Interface with the process and equipment development teams to understand mechanical design requirements for a given project. Perform advanced mechanical design and analysis of equipment systems and subsystems. Interface with controls, software, and electrical engineers to ensure controlled functionality of actuated electromechanical designs. Create drawing packages and interface with fabrication vendors to build and deliver parts and sub-assemblies. Support the assembly of parts and functionality testing against requirements to deliver functionally complete electromechanical systems. Engage and manage equipment suppliers to procure equipment that meets specifications and functional requirements for successful deployment into the lab or manufacturing line. Develop knowledge of Maxeon business processes and procedures as required to meet project objectives and timelines. Comply, at all times, with the Environment, Health and Safety and Manufacturing Quality standards, rules and regulations. Travel required 20% of the time.

Salary: Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $185,400 and $185,400 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis.

Requirements:

Requires a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field of study and five (5) years of experience in the position offered or five (5) years as a Mechanical Design Engineer, or a closely related occupation. Requires five (5) years of experience with: Mechanical Engineering. Requires four (4) years of experience with: CAD package including SolidWorks PDM, CATIA, or NX; Mechanical Design; Mechanical Drawing; tools and equipment including power tools, or microscopes; CNC machining. Requires three (3) years of experience with: Rapid Prototyping; 3d printing; Geometrical dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T); Materials including metals and plastics; MS Office. Requires two (2) years of experience with: Vendor engagement; Factory acceptance test (FAT), and site acceptance test (SAT).
