: As the Senior Project Engineer, Product Development you will be the technical expert responsible for the engineering and development of gasoline engine components and systems. This role involves leading Sustaining Product Development (SPD) and New Product Development (NPD) initiatives, resolving complex design and manufacturing issues, and contributing to overall business strategy. The Senior Project Engineer will work closely with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and OEM customers to ensure high-quality, cost-effective, and compliant product solutions. This position requires strong project management skills, including scheduling, budgeting, planning, and risk management, while also mentoring less experienced engineers.

Duties and Responsibilities: Product Engineering & Development: Design, develop, and validate engine components, subsystems, and systems. Lead engineering tasks involving fabrication, validation, and manufacturing. Provide technical direction and ensure design intent is met.

Apply analytical and experimental techniques to solve engineering problems. Project Management & Leadership: Lead and drive SPD projects and initiatives, supporting NPD efforts.

Develop and execute detailed project plans, including objectives, task breakdowns, timelines, cost estimates, and risk assessments. Ensure projects meet cost, warranty, sourcing, and manufacturing goals. Resolve design issues for customers and manufacturing operations.

Maintain detailed project records and technical reports. Cross-Functional & External Collaboration: Work closely with Purchasing, Supplier Quality, Operations, New Product Engineering, Current Product Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering.

Engage with OEM customers and suppliers to support product design and manufacturing improvements.

Ensure compliance with Clean Air Act, California Code of Regulations, and California Health and Safety Code.

Mentorship & Industry Engagement: Guide and mentor less experienced engineers.

Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices through publications, training, and conferences.

Requirements and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology required. 4+ years in a technical, complex manufacturing environment, preferably in engine component design and development.

Strong background in product development, quality engineering, or manufacturing engineering. Experience with complex machine and system design.

Proficiency in 3D CAD software, engineering calculation tools, and MS Office.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data, make decisions, and prioritize projects. Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
