Peoplelink Staffing Solutions is seeking a seasoned Senior Design Engineer in partnership with a prominent client in the Endicott, NY area within the aerospace machining industry.Design Engineer Job Summary:Pay: 85K - 110KShift: 1st: 7am - 5:00pmDesign Engineer Responsibilities:Spearhead the development of advanced mechanical components and brazed assemblies for aerospace and defense applications.Lead the mechanical design of machined components and brazed assemblies utilizing CAD tools.Oversee concept creation, ensuring innovative and functional design solutions.Drive design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for assembly (DFA) improvements.Provide ongoing technical support throughout the product lifecycle.Focus on precision-machined parts and engineered brazed joints to enhance structural integrity and efficiency.Apply core principles to develop lightweight, efficient, and structurally robust designs aligned with aerospace and defense standards.Develop and refine joint designs for high-temperature brazing, ensuring optimal geometry, clearance, and material compatibility.Collaborate closely with manufacturing, quality, and materials engineering teams to ensure designs are practical and cost-efficient.Maintain comprehensive engineering documentation, including detailed drawings, BOMs, specifications, and testing plans.Conduct FEA and tolerance analyses to validate performance and durability under real-world operational conditions.Contribute to and lead design reviews, root cause investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.Offer technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.Engage with customers and suppliers on technical matters, product specifications, and design intent.Design Engineer Qualifications:Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.7 years of experience in mechanical design within the aerospace and/or defense sectors.Demonstrated expertise in precision-machined components, high-tolerance designs, and high-temperature brazing applications.Strong grasp of GD&T, tolerance analyses, and CNC machining methods (milling, turning, grinding).Proficient in 3D CAD software and FEA analysis tools.Familiarity with AS9100, ITAR, and aerospace industry specifications.Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate within interdisciplinary teams.Experience in vacuum or dip brazing process development.Exposure to thermal stress analysis and heat transfer considerations for high-temperature systems.Previous experience in defense contractingPractical knowledge of manufacturing process validation and first article inspection (FAI).Why you should apply.Medical insurance -- self and family availableDental insurance -- self and family availableEmployee bonus plan 401(k) plan w/ discretionary matchPaid Sick Time and Holiday TimePeoplelink, LLC, a leader in the staffing industry for the past 33 years, continues our vision of linking communities through employment.
