Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Job Description
We are seeking a talented Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in complex part design for plastic injection molding, design for manufacturing, and production processes such as thermoforming, sheet metal, injection molding, casting, and extrusion. The ideal candidate will have experience in multi-part plastic design and assembly, wire harness, and wire routing design. You will be responsible for creating 3D CAD models using Solidworks and preparing 2D drawings to convey designs for manufacturing and assembly purposes. This role involves working closely with customers to capture design intent and communicate project details effectively.
Responsibilities
- Design complex parts for plastic injection molding.
- Apply design for manufacturing principles and production process knowledge.
- Develop multi-part plastic designs and assemblies.
- Design wire harnesses and wire routing.
- Create 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using Solidworks.
- Collaborate with customers to capture design intent and communicate project details.
- Complete product designs from concept through to packaging, supporting projects of varying scales.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in Solidworks and AutoCAD.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 2-3 years of experience in Solidworks and new product development.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Innovative mindset with excellent attention to detail and troubleshooting skills.
- Fabrication and electrical skills.
- Proficiency in Solidworks - PDM.
Work Environment
The position is 100% onsite, joining a team of four other engineers. The company is rapidly growing, with a backlog of over 6,000 engineering hours, offering a dynamic and engaging work environment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.65 - $43.27/hr.
