As a Manufacturing Engineering Technician I with Caterpillar, you'll you will improve quality, velocity, safety, and cost by aiding the engineering department in the post assembly of our diesel engines in the form of data analysis, investigation, problem solving, and process validation. Work alongside experienced engineers to ensure production runs smoothly and safely in a fast-paced environment What you will do: Support Operations - Backfill when needed, EMT Assigned Tool Changes, Basic Machine/Gantry Recovery Support Manufacturing Engineers - Tool Test, Prototypes, NPI/CPI Projects, Program Changes Engineering Maintenance PM Schedule - Perform Machine & Assembly Cell Monthly PMs on assigned value Stream Ability to support/operate most value streams in facility Ability to troubleshoot most stations (machining & assembly) in facility Perform On-Line Machining & Assembly Reworks assigned to Engineering Write and update Standard Work Investigate and Complete any CI Cards assigned What you will have: Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience or a 2-year degree in lieu of experience Experience reading blueprints and reviewing 3D models Experience in assembly processes, and best practices, test processes and validation to manufacture products Experience with basic inspection equipment (calipers, micrometers, depth gages) Proficiency using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook Strong verbal and written communication skills CNC programing skills What would make you a top candidate: LOTO Certified with experience in Dynamic Risk Assessments Ability to read and diagnose CMM reports and correlate with CNC operations Proficient in Fanuc or Siemens control navigation Skilled in basic CNC programming and wear offset adjustments Able to perform machine reworks and assist with fixture pickups Basic AutoCAD DWG skills for taking measurements Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time Ability to perform repetitive operations Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
