Job Description


Prime Responsibilities and Major Factors in Evaluating Performance:

1. Design various tools (dies, gages, fixtures) for manufacturing aerospace components.

2. Develop models and create tooling drawings.

3. Manage projects with both internal and external deadlines and changing time constraints.

4. Work with a cross-functional engineering team to develop various tooling.

5. Ensures designs are state-of-the-art in terms of efficiency, performance, manufacture, and cost effectiveness.

6. Analyzes reports from tool makers to ensure satisfactory building of the tools.

7. Train junior engineers in tool design.

Additional Responsibilities:

1. Works and communicates effectively with a wide variety of functional disciplines and levels of management.

2. Perform other duties as assigned.

3. Ensure that all activities and operations are performed in compliance with the Company’s Code of Conduct.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or 5+ years equivalent knowledge/experience in designing and building dies, molds, gages and fixtures.

2. 5+ years of experience in designing and building single and multiplane tools.

3. Experience with designing and building aerospace and or automotive tooling.

4. Coordinate activities with engineering and outside tool vendors in reviewing and approval designs prior to build.

5. Participate in weekly outside tool vendor conference calls during tool builds to answer technical questions and ensure project plan timelines are met.

6. Professional in CAD design software (NX or SolidWorks preferred).

7. Must possess good communication and organizations skills.

8. Computer literacy is a must, including competency in general MS Office applications, technical computer modeling and statistical tools.
