Our client, is a multinational automotive manufacturing corporation that designs, engineers, manufactures, and sells vehicles and mobility solutions is seeking a Technical Writer Engineer Assembly and Integration to join their team.
Job Title: Technical Writer Engineer Assembly and Integration
Location: Covington, GA
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the current Manufacturing Engineering (ME) team to learn the build process and transition into writing manufacturing work instructions.
Develop and author detailed manufacturing work instructions for: Structural assembly, Interiors integration, and Systems installation.
Apply expertise in electrical components, interiors, systems integration, or structural assembly to support cross-functional teams including: Product Design Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, and Facilities.
Support initial unit builds and production system testing.
Assist the shop floor with: Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA). Redline activities, Process improvements, and Flow reduction initiatives.
Contribute to Design for Manufacturability (DFM) with product design teams.
Implement cost-effective, lean production processes and tooling methods.
Plan workflow and optimize workspace layout for efficiency.
Analyze technical data related to: Product workflow, Manpower forecasting, and Manufacturing performance.
Required Skills:
Bachelors degree (completed)
2+ years of experience in aircraft or automotive structural or systems manufacturing
35 years of experience in technical writing in aircraft or engineering contexts
Experience developing Manufacturing Work Instructions
Knowledge of: Design for manufacturing, Lean manufacturing, and Capacity planning techniques.
Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office
Strong organizational and communication skills
Proactive mindset for improvement and alternative solutions
Valid drivers license
Willingness to work first shift..
Bonus Qualifications (Preferred but not Required):
Experience with Siemens NX, Teamcenter, or EasyPlan
Proficiency in statistical process control and GD&T
Experience developing production lines from prototype to mass production
Knowledge of: FAR Part 23, Part 21 compliance, and Working under an FAA Production Certificate.
Experience launching new production facilities
Familiarity with automation and robotics
Willingness to work alternative shifts
