Designs, assists, and implements experiments for Li-ion battery characterization; assists in the setup, instrumentation, and operation of battery testing campaigns, including data acquisition, safety monitoring, and test execution such as cycling, EIS, and cyclic voltammetry; assists in the development of experimental protocols and the operation of the battery testing facilities, including supporting the maintenance, and operation of battery lab equipment; assists in material characterization activities related to battery research, SEM, EDX, XRD, and other material analysis techniques; helps develop experimental procedures and post-processing methods to support data analysis and reporting; assists in the calibration and validation of basic models for voltage and degradation estimation based on experimental data; prepares and presents paper/reports; writes, edits and/or approves progress and technical reports for sponsors; edits research results for publication and presentation; plans and coordinates meetings with industry partners; conducts internal and external research meetings; schedules and oversees graduate student support on related projects.

Experience Required:
2 years experience in the experimental testing of battery systems based on test standards and project requirements; proficiency with battery cycler control platforms and data acquisition systems (e.g., Arbin, Biologic); experience in executing and analyzing electrochemical testing protocols such as cycling, EIS, and cyclic voltammetry; familiarity with material characterization techniques, including SEM and EDX; experience with basic engineering software for data post-processing and analysis (e.g., MATLAB);
Desired:
Experience with electrochemical analysis techniques and material analysis such as SEM, EDX, Micro-CT, DSC, and TGA.
The target hiring range for this job profile is $69,400- $91,250. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limit to, education, years of experience, internal equity, etc.
