Position: Process Engineer, Injection Molding
Location: Bloomingdale, GA.
Pay Range:$75-$85k/yr.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Process Engineer in an injection molding environment, preferably within the automotive or manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of injection molding principles, equipment, tooling, and materials, with experience in automotive interior parts production a plus.
- Proven experience with process optimization, cycle time reduction, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Familiarity with quality control techniques, including SPC (Statistical Process Control), FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), and root cause analysis.
- Proficiency in CAD software and process simulation tools for mold design and process analysis.
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, or Kaizen.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues quickly and effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Knowledge of industry safety standards and best practices.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Develop, implement, and optimize injection molding processes to produce automotive interior parts, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and high-quality output.
- Collaborate with design and production teams to review product designs and recommend modifications for manufacturability and cost reduction.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to injection molding machines, tooling, and materials to minimize downtime and ensure smooth operations.
- Conduct mold trials, monitor machine performance, analyze data to improve cycle times, reduce scrap, and enhance product quality.
- Establish and maintain process parameters, including temperature, pressure, and cycle times, for each injection molding project.
- Work closely with the quality control team to ensure that products meet all required specifications and industry standards.
- Lead process validation activities, including conducting trials, analyzing results, and providing recommendations for process adjustments.
- Monitor and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) related to the injection molding process, including production efficiency, material usage, and quality.
- Implement and support continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, or Kaizen.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the plant floor for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry materials up to 30 lbs.
- Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and production equipment.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing facility with exposure to injection molding machines, tooling, and materials.
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required, including safety glasses, gloves, and steel-toed boots.
