We are looking for an Instrumention & Controls Engineer will be responsible for the integration of industrial and commercial utility systems controls into new and existing facilities, including server and PLC design, HMI development, instrumentation selection configuration/calibration, system operation, and commissioning. A strong background in mechanical and chemical systems Instrumentation and Controls design, construction, and programming and proven ability to develop scalable server architectures for plant wide SCADA systems is required for this role.

  • Maintain strong integration & communication with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure lessons learned are integrated into current and future facilities
  • Onsite support for multiple sites during the construction and commissioning of all instrumentation and controls equipment, as well as any mechanical, chemical, or electrical equipment that has factory or field installed controls systems. Design, configure, and commission industrial control systems (PLCs, HMIs, networks) for instrumentation, electrical, and mechanical equipment, including wiring diagrams, safety protocols, and testing
  • Manage Database, Server, Folder architecture
  • Develop and implement PLC control systems, design intuitive user interfaces for facility management operations, and optimize cross-functional data integration protocols to drive system performance, usability, and seamless communication between critical operational platforms. Review and provide comments and feedback for ongoing design projects to ensure lessons learned and user needs are incorporated in the completed design package and specifications
  • Support development and implementation of high efficiency alarm rationalization techniques
  • Audits facilities Instrumentation and Controls performance as well as systems operational issues/impacts in order to provide process or system modifications that can provide meaningful value
  • Manufacturing equipment design reviews and site visits to review construction of equipment and coordinate utility connections/designs
  • Degree in Engineering, or the equivalent in experience
  • Minimum 2-5 years of hands-on experience as a Controls Engineer or Applications Engineer, working on automation/electromechanical systems in industrial, mission-critical (e.g., data centers), high-tech/R&D, biotech/pharma, food/beverage, or advanced manufacturing (e.g., battery production) environments
  • Proficiency in industrial systems including configuring control networks (Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, BACnet, Serial Communication), PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff, etc.), designing and implementing safety systems, and developing HMIs (at least one of the following: Ignition, Siemens Desigo, WinCC, ALC)
  • Good understanding of selecting appropriate circuit protectors, wire and cable, sensors, safety hardware, PLC hardware remote I/O, VFD and instrumentation. Experience transitioning products and processes from concept to production is desired
  • Advanced proficiency in modern text-based programming languages (Python, Java, C, VB) is a plus
  • Proficiency creating detailed process, electrical, pneumatic and fluid schematics in CAD (AutoCAD). Ability to use 3D CAD packages such as with Revit is a plus
  • Strong data and system analysis, troubleshooting, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
