THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a SENIOR SYSTEM ENGINEER (MBSE SPECIALIST) to support model-based practices for requirements, interfaces, trade studies, interdisciplinary integration, and analysis, ensuring consistency and maintainability across the user base. The role involves optimising MBSE model deployment, creating accessible visualisations, and integrating the model with other MBSE tools and models within the organisation. Additionally, the engineer will prepare performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and engage with stakeholders, including business leaders and subject matter experts, to enhance model maturity and usability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support and implement model-based practices for requirements management, interface definition, trade studies, interdisciplinary integration, and system analysis.
  • Ensure consistency and maintainability of MBSE models across the user base.
  • Maintain and update models to reflect changes in system design and requirements.
  • Optimise the deployment and reporting mechanisms of MBSE models.
  • Develop accessible visualisations to aid stakeholder understanding and decision-making.
  • Support the development and maturation of MBSE models.
  • Facilitate integration with other MBSE tools and models within the organisation.
  • Prepare and analyse reporting metrics to measure model performance.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements to MBSE practices.
  • Engage with a variety of stakeholders, including business leaders and subject matter experts, to gather requirements and provide model insights.

SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices, including proficiency in tools such as Sparx Systems Enterprise Architect and IBM DOORS.
  • Proven experience working within safety-critical and regulated environments, such as the nuclear industry.
  • Familiarity with applying nuclear safety principles in accordance with frameworks like the Defence Nuclear Safety Regulations (DSA03-DNSR).
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems, such as Teamcenter.
  • Strong ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, including business leaders and subject matter experts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in systems engineering with a focus on MBSE practices.
  • Experience in maintaining and developing complex system models.

CERTIFICATIONS (DESIRABLE):

  • INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or equivalent.
  • Certifications in specific MBSE tools or methodologies.
