THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a Senior System Engineer to develop and deliver updated verification strategies for complex systems across various environmental categories and technical disciplines. The role involves using Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) to ensure all claims, arguments, and evidence are logic-linked, traceable, and compliant with relevant standards. This position requires collaboration with stakeholders, clause-by-clause analysis of standards, and the creation of integrated trials and modelling roadmaps to demonstrate full system compliance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver updated verification strategies covering all environmental categories and technical disciplines.
  • Define and document claims and arguments necessary to demonstrate compliance with system requirements.
  • Develop integrated trials and modelling roadmaps identifying evidence needs at component, subsystem, and system levels.
  • Engage with stakeholders across the business to gather inputs and align strategies.
  • Facilitate workshops and discussions to ensure comprehensive strategy coverage.
  • Apply MBSE tools to capture and logically link verification strategies.
  • Integrate verification strategies with established safety approaches.
  • Conduct clause-by-clause analysis of relevant standards to identify required evidence for compliance.
  • Document and ensure traceability of evidence to specific clauses, addressing gaps in evidence delivery where necessary.
  • Ensure all compliance evidence is logic-linked, traceable, and aligns with overall system verification strategies.
  • Identify and establish delivery routes for missing evidence.

SKILLS:

  • Strong expertise in verification strategy development for complex systems.
  • Proficiency in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools.
  • In-depth knowledge of standards compliance, including clause-by-clause analysis and evidence traceability.
  • Ability to develop and manage integrated trials and modelling roadmaps.
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Analytical thinking with meticulous attention to detail in system engineering processes.
  • Requirements management tools (DOORS etc.)

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in systems engineering with a focus on verification and compliance
  • Proven track record of applying MBSE in a professional setting.
  • Familiarity with safety-critical systems and related standards (e.g., ISO, IEC, MIL-STD).
  • Professional certification in systems engineering (e.g., INCOSE ASEP/CSEP) is desirable.
