Holcim (US) Inc., one of the nation´s largest manufacturers and distributors of cement and mineral components has an immediate opening in their Ste. Genevieve, Missouri greenfield plant for a Mechanical Inspector to support the Project Manager and Ste. Genevieve Project Team in completing construction of a 12,000 t/d clinker, 4 million t/y Greenfield cement plant project. This opportunity is a 12 month position.
The plant design is one of the most sophisticated in the cement industry today and incorporates the latest in cement production and environmental control technologies. The plant will be a single kiln line Portland cement manufacturing facility that includes a raw material processing system, coal mill system, product processing system, and material receiving and product shipping systems. It will generate 4 million metric tons of cement annually.
We work in an energetic team atmosphere, and looking for your mechanical and inspection expertise to be instrumental during the construction and commissioning phases.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure safe work practices are followed at the site especially in regard to the mechanical installation contractors. Take corrective action to eliminate safety hazards.
• Provide quality oversight to ensure all equipment is installed according to plans, specifications and supplier recommendations.
• Work together with the equipment suppliers, project team and contractors to coordinate work and tasks according to the overall plan for the most efficient, high quality installation.
• Ensure proper review, signoff and documentation is complete for all equipment installations.
• Participate in and facilitate task planning sessions and/or team meetings as required.
• Provide coordination as required between the general contractor, project team and installation contractors to ensure installation is completed according to plans and schedule.
• Other activities as required to support the project team and meet the objectives of the project
Key Requirements:
•Minimum 3 years of heavy industrial experience is required.
•Minimum 3 years construction experience required
•Ability to use a variety of tools/techniques to conduct inspections such as weight, temperature, pressure, elevation, linear measuring devices, dial indicator, micrometer, and UT device.
•Ability to understand and gather information from mechanical drawings and supplier manuals.
•High degree of safety awareness
•Excellent and effective communications skills with ability to communicate technical information to team members
•Unswerving quality orientation with consistent attention to detail
