Job Title: Principal Product Engineer - Electronics Hardware Company: TRW Automotive Location: Washington, MI Description: Job Responsibilities: This position is based at the TRW Technical Center Washington (Michigan) supporting the General Motors Technical Epsilon Electric Power Assisted Steering Belt-Drive system for the 2013 model year vehicle build. The electronic power pack is designed in the UK and supplied to US for integration into the EPS system – the candidate must be able to manage all communication between the design team in the UK and the customer (both internal and external – General Motors)  The candidate should be able to discuss all aspects of the electronic circuits, electrical/electronic schematics, and the printed-circuit-board layouts to the customer when required.  The candidate must have good project management skills and be able to work with minimal support (when General Motors require on-site support). The role will also include providing technical support to an on-site engineer.  Some travel may be required to the UK for training.   Qualifications:   5+ years of automotive experience working with automotive ECUs; experience with 32-bit automotive microcontrollers (such as TI TMS470 family, Freescale MPC families, Infineon XC (16-bit) and TC families or similar); familiarity with micro-electrcnic industry trends and best practices (continuous improvements, zero defect, etc.); exposure to AEC-Q100 standards; familiarity with manufacturing and testing standards; experience using typical development tools (e.g. JTAG interface standard,  flash programming); working with CANape; working knowledge of typical electronics laboratory environment (oscilloscopes, function generators, prototype circuit development, etc.);excellent communication and networking skills; computer literate utilizing data spreadsheets, word processing, analysis tools such as MathCad, PSPICE, etc. Supplemental skills include experience developing code for embedded applications; Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification.     Education:   Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
