Work Summary:
Work with Helac¡¦s products and services by proactively testing, refining our current products, developing and prototyping new applications. Responsible for assigned projects and proposals, including program design, cost, schedule, and testing. Coordinate with testing, engineering, marketing, sales, service and production to complete assigned projects. Provide leadership to designers and other related Helac business functions.
Description of Work Performed:
„h Assume complete responsibility for multiple projects and business initiatives under the guidance of our Engineering Manager and/or the supervising Project Manager for proposals and projects assigned.
„h Coordinate with the representatives of testing, engineering, marketing, sales, service and production to plan and develop programs.
„h Supervise drafter-designers, junior level engineers, and other engineering staff.
„h Estimate and maintain effective control of project, schedule and product cost.
„h Ensure all analysis for form, fit, and function is complete.
„h Ensure products meet advertised specifications by description of the product, envelope, performance, stress analysis, weight analysis, reliability, materials and other data required to satisfy the specifications.
„h Review and approve complete product drawings, drawing release packages, and drawing revisions.
„h Implement product testing for all new designs.
„h Work with production to assist in establishing and communicating proper assembly and testing procedures.
„h Application Engineering: work with customers and/or sales personnel to determine cost effective solutions for current and future customers.
„h Develop and coordinate product improvements and cost savings programs.
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
„h Education and Experience ¡V BSME with a minimum of 7 years of engineering experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
„h Familiarity with lathe-mill machining, fabrication, and welding.
„h Must possess CAD drafting / 3-D Solid Modeling skills (AutoCAD 2000, Solid Works 2004 preferred).
„h Knowledge of ANSI & ISO drafting procedures and geometric tolerances.
„h Proficient with statistics, mechanics and materials, stress analysis, Newtonian physics, supporting mathematics including, fractions, decimals, geometry, trigonometry and algebra.
