We are an Equal Opportunity Employer. Job Summary: Individual will supervise the Maintenance Department and will have direct responsibility for Quality Assurance and Quality Control. This individual will also work in a support role for a variety of functions including EH&S, Lean, R&D, Plant Engineering, and Manufacturing Engineering working on engineering activities such as: work measurement studies, methods development/process definition, medium project management, documentation development, product/process validation studies and trials, data collection and analysis, cost modeling, new product introduction support and equipment setup and installation. In addition this person will be responsible for product design and new product introduction support. This position provides a broad range of activities that would prepare them for a succession plan for multiple roles within the organization. The individual will assist in implementing continuous improvement business methodology and projects. Contributes to the use of manufacturing best practices, plant/process quality and productivity and provides manufacturing support by investigating product or process issues Job Requirements: Bachelors degree, with an area of concentration in Chemical Engineering with a minimum 3-5 years of manufacturing or engineering experience in a plant. Able to work within a team environment to get results. Supervisory experience required .Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD preferred), knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, strong proficiency with MS Office Suite applications (particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Access database software knowledge desirable. Excellent communication skills. Must show sense of ownership, accountability and independent thinking. Familiarity with industrial engineering fundamentals (plant layout, workstation design, ergonomics, methods analysis, etc.) Knowledge of extrusion, textiles, fibers and autocad. Experience in Meltblown processes preferred. Ability to manage concurrent project activities. Lean Manufacturing and/or Green Belt training a plus. A proven track record of process improvements, cost savings, and new product development a plus. Essential Duties: Monitor all company processes to ensure that products and services meet the company established quality standards. Investigate complaints of product non-conformance and recommends corrective action. Work with management and production personnel to establishing corrective action ? preventive action programs. Develop, implement and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), General Product Specification (GPS), Sorbent Specification (Sorb Spec) and Test Methods (TM). Develop, review and maintain incoming raw material product specifications to ensure that meet the company established quality standards. Train and coach QA technical staff. Conduct Research and Development (R&D) of new and/or existing products and processes. Conduct analysis of competitive product testing and provides analysis results to management. Support proper safety and permitting protocols are followed and in place. Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods and processes. Utilizing Lean concepts; drives continuous improvement and training activities throughout the organization, including manufacturing techniques, quality and safety Helps insure that all manufacturing best practices are used. Objectively evaluates processes for non-value added activity and eliminates that which does not add value, drives process innovation. Participate in scorecard reviews and execution of customer focused improvement initiatives. Perform other duties as assigned. To Apply Visit Brady Corporation
