Job Title: Process Engineer - Blown Film Company: FP International Location: Thornton, IL Description: FP International (FPI), a world-wide leading manufacturer of protective packaging machinery and consumable products has an opening for a Process Engineer for Blown Film operation. This position is located in our facility in Thornton, Illinois. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Process Engineer will be responsible for process optimization/ troubleshooting in blown film extrusion which requires on-going cooperative interaction with R&D Process Engineering, Quality Assurance, and other company resources. Principle Duties & Responsibilities: • Ownership of the plant film processes in support of company objectives and goals. • Process troubleshooting for all film operations and recommending improvements for PM programs. • Work with plant management to identify and recommend corrective actions for process and equipment deficiencies. • Define goals and implement strategies related to yield improvement, scrap reduction, and improvement in product quality. • Responsible for verifying and maintaining the safety of any new or existing equipment and/or processes. • Provide technical and process related training to employees. • Design, execute, and report out results on process experiments aimed at improving product quality and cost. • Improve equipment reliability and maintenance reduction. Education: • A Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering Required Experience: • 5 to 8 years experience in a manufacturing environment • Minimum of 3 years experience in blown film extrusion • Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to build strong relationships & work closely with other employees • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office software • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills We offer a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.
