Job Title: Manufacturing/Process Engineer Company: L-3 Communications Location: Tempe, AZ Description: Summary of Job Candidate will perform a variety of engineering work in designing, planning and overseeing the production and testing of image intensifier assemblies. May write process work instructions and troubleshoot equipment. Reviews blueprints, floor plan layouts, designs and ensures designed products meet specifications; also assists in developing test methods and procedures. Provides technical guidance and direction to support personnel, and performs other duties assigned. A fundamental goal for this position is also to improve the stability of the processes by identifying and removing special causes of variation at their point of origin, through the daily utilization of SPC, failure analysis, statistical analysis tools and communication with the associated manufacturing area relating to root cause. Minimum Basic Qualifications ? Degreed engineer (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical or Industrial) ? 5-7 years engineering experience in a high-tech, fast-paced environment; semiconductor engineer with process improvement background desired ? Experience with stabilizing processes through failure analysis, root-cause determination and corrective action implementation methodology. ? US Citizen and eligible to obtain Security Clearance from the DOD. Preferred Qualifications ? Working experience with Six Sigma tools such as SPC, DOE and statistical methods ?
