Manage process engineering resources across a portfolio of projects to develop project scope identification documents, supporting conceptual materials, detailed budget estimates, and risk and alternative assessments using standardized templates in advance of deployment by Platform project execution teams. Oversight responsibility for performance of recommended processing systems and the technical accuracy and thoroughness of the scope defined. Support the innovation process through collaboration with Research, Quality and Innovation teams. Guide investigation of emerging commercially available processing equipment and technology in support of developing competitive advantage to ConAgra within the discipline of process engineering. This position directly supervises a team of corporate process engineers (Junior, Senior and Principal)supporting the Grocery, Refrigerated, Snacks and Frozen Food Platforms. Position Responsibilities 1. Works with all Platform engineering leadership in support of developing annual and 3 year capital plans by recommending processing systems improvements and solutions that are proven in both concept and performance. 2. Co-ordinates the development of enterprise wide standards and guidelines for process equipment and process components. 3. Coordinates the development of Front-End-Loading packages that are clear, concise, and reflecting thorough progressive due diligence to ensure project success. Works with other engineering disciplines to ensure FEL's follow a consistent format, data synchronization, and clear boundaries with flawless transcription among the various disciplines. 4. Reviews FEL packages for accuracy, completeness, and operational effectiveness including but not limited to : Technology assessment and recommended solution including plant, ConAgra, and industry best-in-class practices Physical location and general arrangement placements (drawing level) Infrastructure requirements and needs assessment Capital / Expense estimates and cash-flow schedule Schedule to complete relative to an assumed approval date Equipment / System Performance criteria Identification of Alternatives, Pre-requisites, Risks, and Opportunities 5. Develops and drives intra-platform and cross-enterprise programs focused on improving process system capacity, capability, and sustainability while generally reducing total delivered costs. 6. Keeps current with latest food processing technology and commercial applications of this technology. 7. Keeps current with latest and emerging industry regulations and codes relative to processing equipment system design and operation 8. Provides technical and economic feasibility to other groups within the Company that are focused on improvements to the current sate and developing competitive advantages against ConAgra's peer set. Position Qualifications A BS or MS degree in Engineering (i.e. Chemical, Mechanical or Agricultural) with a Food Engineering emphasis is required in addition to 10 - 15 yrs practical experience in food manufacturing or processing technologies. Management experience in a corporate manufacturing environment required This position requires a broad understanding of Food processing equipment / systems and manufacturing applications.
