Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer Company: Vocollect Inc Location: Pittsburgh, PA Description: Position Summary: The Manufacturing Engineering group is responsible for the all in-house manufacturing processes and equipment as well as current product engineering. We need an experienced, well-rounded engineer to focus on ensuring that the products we manufacture offer increasing value to our customers, while at the same time continue to fuel our own growth. The ideal candidate will have a solid engineering background including expertise in a medium-to-high volume production environment. Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills are a must. Some travel is required. A demonstrated ability to deliver innovative, cost-effective, and timely solutions in a multiple project environment is important. Position Responsibilities: **Lead all phases of the mechanical engineering development, with a majority of tasks being of high complexity. Conduct functional and environmental testing of designs to evaluate performance against design criteria. **Establish the top level design direction and lead the detailed design and rigorous testing of mechanical parts, primarily using plastic injection molding manufacturing process. **Generate complete drawing package (per ANSI Standards) including detailed specifications, simulation, test results, verification support documentation, and bill of materials. **Resolve engineering and manufacturing issues by providing appropriate design solutions. Apply creativity, innovation, and new ideas where necessary to solve difficult problems. Position Qualifications: Education: **B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, MSME a plus Experience: **7+ years industry experience, particularly in the design and analyses of plastic injection molded parts in the field of rugged mobile electronic/computer packaging design. **Experience in roles related to developing, manufacturing, and supporting complex electronic products in a medium-to-high volume production environment, with a proven track record of results. **Experience with production machinery and fixturing with an emphasis on precision assembly.
