As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Honeywell Security you will be involved in the mechanical engineering development and analysis of new products and support of existing products. This position will have a strong focus on advancing the state of the art within the business in the use of analytical tools and testing techniques including reliability engineering, engineering validation testing, static and dynamic FEA analysis, thermal CFD analysis, tolerance analysis and the use of six sigma tools such as FMEA's, capability analyses and Monte Carlo simulations. This position will take a lead role in establishing a reliability function and mindset for the Security SBU within Honeywell. This will include planning and directing all aspects of reliability engineering activities within the business. This individual must have the ability to work independently, have excellent communication skills and mentor other engineers within the global design team. Project management experience is a plus. Range of Responsibilities: Performs detailed studies, experiments, research and tests required to verify products meet requirements Prepares feasibility studies and reports making recommendations on technical problem resolution using analytical techniques Verify that all structural requirements have been met using Pro/Mechanica. Evaluate other analytical software packages Perform thermal analysis using CF Design Develop customer use cases for various product types Develop and execute engineering validation test plans and evaluate and report results with action plans Develop system and component qualification plans to demonstrate compliance with reliability targets through analysis and testing that are consistent with customer use cases Perform Weibull analysis Communicate effectively the reliability and analysis efforts throughout the organization. Train other employees in basic concepts of reliability and use of analytical tools Keeps informed on the latest state-of-the art devices, techniques and technical developments and theories associated with the Mechanical and Reliability Engineering disciplines Works closely with Product Management, Sales, Operations and the rest of the Security development team utilizing a gated product development process to ensure at all times the viability of all projects in terms of features, product cost, performance and total project NRE Ensures compliance to all applicable agency legislation where it may apply to product introduction Contributes to a positive team-based work environment This is a great position to showcase your talents in a highly visible role.
