Experience in metal product fabrication and machining, writing work instructions, nuclear industry quality specs.Engineered Products Division (EPD) is one of the best equipped facilities for precision fabrication and machining in the southwest. We have a unique combination of highly skilled staff, an extensive nuclear quality assurance program, and the capability to handle a wide variety of cutting, forming, finishing, and testing operations. EPD has a long history of building and maintaining specialty containers for DOE cleanup projects. We also serve other industries including construction, mining, oil and gas, and commercial nuclear. EPD has experience with gloveboxes, modular process skids, piping systems, structural steel, pressure vessels, high integrity containers, and more.Capabilities: EPD provides metal machining, fabrication, non-destructive examination, repair, and testing services. We have one of the best equipped shops in the Southwest with more than 100 machine tools (both CNC and manual), the latest MIG and TIG resistance welding equipment, a wide variety of cutting, forming, and finishing equipment, and up to 20 ton overhead crane capacity. We have the capability and capacity to handle large productions runs was well as smaller projects.Quality: EPD’s NQA-1 quality program (the nuclear standard) sets us apart. Not only are we approved for the manufacture of nuclear waste transportation and storage containers, but we also hold “U” and “R” stamp registrations for the manufacture and repair of Section VIII pressure vessels, and we hold an “NPT” stamp for fabrication of parts and subassemblies for Section III nuclear applications.Facilities: EPD has two locations in Carlsbad, NM, encompassing more than 111,000 square feet of indoor fabrication space with an additional 18 acres of outside testing areas (pressure test bunker and drop test pad), metal finishing, staging, and storage space.We believe that success is ultimately determined by what you help your customers achieve.
