Manufacturing Engineer II Job Description: Position available is Manufacturing Engineering at the Raytheon Forest, MS Consolidated Manufacturing Center, Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) Area. At the site, Raytheon produces high technology electronics assemblies for the Department of Defense. The area processes approximately 1500 complex circuit cards per month. Primary processes include hand solder, wave solder and automated surface mount (pick and place) assembly. Responsibilities include process documentation, defect and variability reduction, SPC development and implementation, cycle time reduction activities, new equipment implementation and new product development. The candidate must have good oral and written communication and be able to provide technical leadership in a teaming environment. Process troubleshooting must use methodical approach based on data. Works with design engineers to resolve design issues. Works with Integrated Product Team Lead and process operators to maximize process yields. Attends daily process focus team meetings to reduce defects and address process issues. Qualifies new process breakthroughs to improve product quality, reduce cost and cycle times. Implements new processes as new programs are brought to production. Develops training packages and trains operators as required. Inspects performance of machinery, equipment, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure product quality. Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control, and may develop those techniques.
