Coordinates the implementation of all new product and model changes through cooperation with other departments. Identifies production concerns and takes steps to correct problems. Provides product cost information and new product estimates to assist management in the justification of capital expenditures. Reviews prototype designs with Engineering to recommend design changes to develop and reduce target costs.Experience in manufacturing environment required preferably with experience in precision machining of ferrous and non-ferrous castings, shaft-type components, familiarity with standard precision measuring techniques, plant layout and assembly methods, line balancing and time studies.Bachelor's degree in engineering required. Registered Professional Engineer, Certified Manufacturing Engineer preferred. Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer 4 Company: Boeing Location: New Orleans, LA Description:   This position is located at the Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans, Louisiana. Lead Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) in analyzing product development, complex producibility studies and production/tooling philosophies. Refines, validates, coordinates and implements conceptual designs and manages the program architecture for build. Develops manufacturing plans and oversees plan optimization. Conduct complex producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements. Resolve complex technical problems. Serve as a project manager to ensure that contract requirements, specifications, design criteria and schedule performance are integrated and maintained. Leads advanced design solutions and supports research of new product, business opportunities and process improvements. Deploy company Lean Enterprise analysis methods. Documents and communicates producibility best practices. Provide guidance to others through structured mentoring. Interface directly with NASA customer. Applicant must be able to comprehend complex technical specifications, drawings, schematics, manuals and engineering instructions. Maintain Boeing and NASA records which requires suitable proficiency in all types of information systems including, but not limited to Boeing web based systems, Microsoft Office products. I-Gold experience is desired.
