NSWCDD HSI team personnel are responsible for the development, integration, execution, and verification of human performance requirements associated with human factors engineering, manpower, personnel, training, habitability, survivability, environmental safety, and occupational health with an emphasis on the integration of these elements across the domains of HSI and then their relationship to the overall Systems Engineering Process. Together these HSI elements define how the human impacts and is impacted by the system and influences mission effectiveness. The Human in HSI includes operators, maintainers, trainers, and decision makers who perform required tasks in the intended operational environment. The candidate will demonstrate experience and expertise is HSI tasks that may include, but not be limited to, these Task Areas: Integrated Command Environment and Human Performance Lab analyses and integration of advanced technology simulation equipment and technologies; Perform detailed performance requirements analyses based on operational scenarios to determine operational utilization, system performance requirements, interoperability and operational concerns; Provide a wide range of Research and Development activities in areas related to HSI with a special emphasis on training, human learning and performance; Research areas may include human performance methodologies, individual and team performance assessment, and training effectiveness; Support human systems in the areas of simulation and analysis Bachelors Degree6 years of relevant experienceActive Security ClearanceHuman Factors Engineering Experience in U. Position Objective: Sustain and improve methods and system solutions to produce a product in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Examine process flow and propose improvements to streamline production, improve turnaround, and reduce cost. Education and Experience: This position requires a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering or related degree. Five years experience in Industrial Engineering will be considered in lieu of a degree. At least three years experience in a manufacturing environment is required. One year of SAP experience and working knowledge of Pro-E is preferred. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings is required. Knowledge of manufacturing processes and an understanding of routing sequences and times are required. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Ability to work well with all levels of personnel, from management to shop floor, is required. Proficiency in MS Office, especially Word, Excel, and Notepad is required. Special Position Requirements: Must be willing to work extended hours based on business needs. Work Requirements: Occasional bending, stretching and stooping are required.
