GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Industrial Engineer's primary responsibility will be to perform analysis related to complex manpower, material, machine, and floor space requirements. The Industrial Engineer will also develop, analyze, and present project information, as well as coordinate implementation of projects, develop programs for effective cost control, partner with other areas to complete projects, and conduct special studies. This position will manage and coordinate the work of the industrial engineers. We are currently hiring this position in our Junction City, KS Service Center. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: " Perform analysis related to complex manpower, material, machine, and floor space requirements. " Develop, analyze, and present project information. " Coordinate the implementation of projects. " Develop programs for effective cost control, partner with other areas to complete projects, and conduct special studies. " Provide input on special projects related to multiple facility systems, recommend systems, and process enhancements to improve productivity. " Analyze processes, develop, test, and implement production standards. " Analyze, test, and integrate Service Center technology. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: " Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering or related discipline required. " Preference of 3-5 years of Industrial Engineering experience, 1-2 of which is in a retail or manufacturing distribution environment. " Practical work experience utilizing AutoCAD. Job Summary (Summary of the position) Plans utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel to improve throughput, inventory and operating expenses.  Improves process. Duties and Responsibilities of the Job(This section is not inclusive.  Other duties may be assigned as necessary). 1)                   Conduct time and motion studies on all production lines to establish the most efficient and safe production labor standards2)                   Develop reports to measure our actual performance compared to standard cost 3)                   Examine specific work areas and make recommendations for improvements in throughput, inventory and operating expense4)                   Analyze work force utilization and operational data (production, scrap, downtime) to determine utilization of employees and equipment5)                   Study and improve the manufacturing processes (for example, heat optimization of EVA, flow optimization of chemicals, etc.)6)                   Research new and improved equipment and processes.7)                   Optimize tooling with support from corporate tooling8)                   Develop and optimize plant layout to improve material handling flow9)                   Optimize packaging with support from purchasing10)                Work with cost estimators to ensure current process meets quoted targets, help with quoting process for new business, and support ABC activities11)                Design and establish work-cells and standard processes during the launch phase of new products12)                Participate in production decisions concerning new product lines.13)                Responsible for project management of new equipment installation14)                Work with engineers at corporate office to help produce prototype parts and offer suggestions and feedback on design concepts as to feasibility in production15)                Champion continuous improvement program for the plant16)                Manage and track continuous improvement activities to meet or exceed budgetary targets17)                Adherence to plant safety requirements as established by company policy.18)                Adhere to applicable TS16949 and ISO 14001 requirements.19)                Other duties as requested Skills preferred to perform the job 1)                   Excellent communication skills (verbal/written).2)                   Excellent computer skills (MS Office, Autosketch 7.0)3)                   Must be willing to travel. Educational requirements 1)                   Minimum of an Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering Degree or equivalent.
