Job Title: Product Designer, Industrial Designer Medical Devices Solidworks ProE Flash Company: Pacific Technical Search Location: Irvine, CA Description: Industry leading medical instrumentation developer has immediate need for experienced Industrial Designer, Product Designer (Contract-Hire) to be responsible for product life-cycle design and tracking through providing 2d/3d sketches and drawings and models of product concepts and using input from Product Management, Users and Engineering for new product development.  Using input from Product Managers, Users and Engineering, providing 2d/3d color and b/w sketches, drawings and models of new product concepts and modified product ideas that balance functionality, ergonomics/human factors, safety, aesthetics, industry standards and manufacturability.  Communicate through concept sketches, 3D concept models and structural drawings.  See products through all stages of development, from initial concept to rough models, prototyping, engineering, colors, graphics and materials.  Using input from Product Management, Users, and Engineering will create User Interface concepts and working model simulations and write User Interface Requirements documents as input to Engineering on product development project.Requires Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Biomedical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering, 5 plus years experience in industrial design, human factors analysis and user interface definition.  Exceptional organizational, communication, and project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining an attention to detail and focusing on priorities to ensure that all deadlines are met.  Must possess an exceptional portfolio that demonstrates innovation and resourceful approaches to problem solving.  Combination of consumer product experience and experience with products/systems that combine hardware, software and consumables/disposables and experience in writing user requirements documents including use case models is preferred.  Experience with medical products/systems is a plus, Requires a relentlessly positive attitude and ability to thrive in a fast pace environment.  Must have solid understanding of manufacturing processes and limitations.  Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Illustrator, and Photoshop required.  Working knowledge of SolidWorks, Flash and ProE a plus. For immediate consideration please include resume as Word Doc.
