Quality Assurance Engineer Contract Position Columbus/Heath, OH This individual will provide Quality Engineering oversight and support to internal organizations and programs assigned. The person will interface with customer representatives. The person will develop and ensure robust processes, procedures, specifications related to product or internal processes. Recommends changes to specifications or processes extending to software, hardware and testing processes ensuring continual compliance to contractual, AS9100 requirements. Generates inspection and test procedures, witnesses tests, and verifies requirements are met. This individual will provide corrective action, trend analysis, metrics, failure investigations and reporting for products and processes in support in AS9100, and continual process improvement initiatives. This individual will provide senior level quality-engineering support and mentoring to design engineering and configuration management to ensure robustness in the design process from concept to drawing release with particular attention on validation and verification. EOE M/F/D/VRequired Skills/Qualifications: Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME) and at least 5 years experience in the Quality Assurance field. Must have three years experience in Space Systems, or Guidance & Navigation instruments in regulated industries such as NASA or Department of Defense. Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DOD Security Clearance. Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Expert understanding of hardware quality assurance standards and methods encompassing AS9100. Requires excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Required to evaluate, interpret, and review complex drawings and requirements related to products and in support of programs. Experience with mechanical parts, electronic/electro-mechanical assemblies is preferred. Green or Black belt certification in Lean or Six Sigma highly desirable. Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization. Applicants may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
