Hardware Design Engineer with Analog Emphasis -

The successful candidate for this Hardware Design Engineer (with Analog emphasis) position works in a product development environment where there is collaborative engineering of new and innovative sonar systems (www.edgetech.com). This Hardware Design Engineer position requires electronic design experience in some or all of the following areas:

• Design of analog/mixed-signal printed circuit boards (PCB)
• Design capture
• PSpice simulation/modeling
• PCB Layout
• PCB Test & evaluation
• Debugging of prototype PCBs

The successful candidate for this Hardware Design Engineer position understands electrical engineering concepts, digital and analog circuit analysis techniques, and statistical analysis fundamentals. The ability to work with common lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers is also required. The Hardware Design Engineer submits reports and technical memoranda, and maintains an engineering notebook. The Hardware Design Engineer may also prepare specifications, estimates, test schedules, documentation etc. Routine engineering tasks are handled semi-independently, but assistance is readily available.

The Hardware Design Engineer works with other company engineers, and staff, such as project managers and sales & marketing professionals. The Hardware Design Engineer participates in peer reviews, design reviews, testing process (through test review and analysis), test witnessing and certification of hardware performance. Occasional field support of deployed systems is likely and a willingness to travel for short periods is required.

We are currently seeking experienced Electrical Maintenance Supervisors with demonstrated skills in electrical engineering or Recent graduates with EE or EET for our Lorain, Ohio plant operations.

Job Responsibilities:
Maintenance supervisors are responsible for directing the hourly workforce in daily maintenance activities to ensure equipment is operational and safe to meet production objectives.

Scheduling and planning maintenance to ensure continuous operations and eliminate downtime

Implementing maintenance processes and procedures

Performing scheduled repairs and planning for outages

Tracking maintenance delays

Conducting area inspections

Conforming to environmental and quality standards

Practicing continuous improvement initiatives

Performs a variety of engineering work in designing, planning and overseeing manufacture, construction, installation, operation, and maintenance of electric or electronic components, equipment, systems, facilities, and machinery used in generation, transmission, distribution, and utilization of electrical energy for domestic, commercial, and industrial consumption. Works closely with other engineering disciplines in the development and application of robotics to increase production quality, efficiency, or volume.

Responsibilities Include:

1. Initiate and oversee engineering studies and projects.
2. Maintenance and administration of Wonder Ware software systems.
3. Assist in troubleshooting electrical, electronic and computer problems on equipment.
4. Develop procedures to assist in troubleshooting/repair of electrical systems
5. Recommend preventive maintenance on equipment.
6. Provide specific training on electrical maintenance and troubleshooting.
7. Become the Plant Administrator of the Electrical Safety Program.
8. Maintain AutoCAD drawings, equipment manuals, and software.
9. Maintain Backup copies of all Control system and PLC programs.
10. Ensure work order completion and preventive maintenance effectiveness.
11. Work with Maintenance Planners on special electrical jobs.
12. Work with Engineering Staff / Plant Staff to set and meet Plant goals and objectives
13. Work with Corporate Technical Staff on special projects.
14. Work with outside technical services on special projects.
15. Work with Purchasing Manager to procure critical electrical parts.
16. Recommend new projects and cost reductions.
17. Help monitor and control plant maintenance budget.
18. Participate in the reduction of plant equipment downtime and plan corrective actions.
19. Participate in team meetings with hourly and salaried personnel.
20. Become a resource for hourly and salaried teams.
21. Participate on the Maintenance Hiring team.
22. Participate on the Maintenance Natural Management team.
