This Hardware Design Engineer position requires electronic design experience in some or all of the following areas:

  • Design of analog/mixed-signal printed circuit boards (PCB)
  • Design capture
  • PSpice simulation/modeling
  • PCB Layout
  • PCB Test & evaluation
  • Debugging of prototype PCBs
The Hardware Design Engineer provides design support to senior design engineers for circuit level prototyping, analysis and testing of new designs for pre-amplifiers, signal acquisition hardware, power amplifiers and power supplies. The Hardware Design Engineer is required to understand electronic noise and SNR's. The Hardware Design Engineer follows general instructions of senior engineers and carry out the design and implementation phases on assigned portions of engineering projects.

The successful candidate for this Hardware Design Engineer position understands electrical engineering concepts, digital and analog circuit analysis techniques, and statistical analysis fundamentals. The ability to work with common lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers is also required. The Hardware Design Engineer submits reports and technical memoranda, and maintains an engineering notebook. The Hardware Design Engineer may also prepare specifications, estimates, test schedules, documentation etc. Routine engineering tasks are handled semi-independently, but assistance is readily available.

The Hardware Design Engineer works with other company engineers, and staff, such as project managers and sales & marketing professionals. The Hardware Design Engineer participates in peer reviews, design reviews, testing process (through test review and analysis), test witnessing and certification of hardware performance. Occasional field support of deployed systems is likely and a willingness to travel for short periods is required.
