Our globally recognized brands include Sharpie, Paper Mate, DYMO, EXPO, Waterman, Parker, Rolodex, IRWIN, LENOX, BernzOmatic, Rubbermaid, Graco, Calphalon, Goody, and Teutonia.   This is a job summary which includes essential job duties of the position.  More specific information regarding duties may be provided upon request for particular locations and facilities.   The Industrial Products & Services Group is searching for a highly motivated Engineering Manager to lead Product Development Engineering activities as well as manage all Program elements of the IP&S ACR (Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration) initiative.  The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively across multiple functions and collaborate with other divisions.  This person needs to balance work on multiple projects and manage to deadlines.  The candidate must have an enthusiastic, positive attitude and passion for product development engineering, design, and project management. This individual must have the skill set to run all aspects of product engineering.  The ideal candidate will have a solid knowledge of refrigeration tools and service equipment and the processes required to manufacture them.  The qualified candidate must have experience developing new products with both domestic and international suppliers.   DUTIES:·            Manage a team of engineers and the overall project to develop, execute, & launch new innovative tools and equipment on time, on cost, and on quality.·            Plan and coordinate new product development projects and activities as part of a cross-functional development team.·            Work in the field with product end-users to understand key consumer insights, product needs, and innovation opportunities.·            Implement new products from design to launch following our structured CDI (Consumer Driven Innovation) product development process and enforce the use of project plans in MS Project·            Take product concepts from Industrial Design team and turn into engineering product designs using 3D computer-aided design (Pro Engineer).·            Responsible for finalized engineering product drawings with critical dimensions, performance specifications, and quality specifications including standards and test procedures.·            Manage the creation of product prototypes and manage product testing for internal evaluation and consumer research.·            Evaluate and optimize product concepts for mechanical function (e.g., fit, function, interference, etc), manufacturability, packaging and material handling.·            Ensure new products function properly, meet specifications, and meet timing objectives.·            Develop and evaluate cost analysis for new and modified product concepts from design through production launch to maximize product value.·            Provide technical support to operations and outside vendors in solving product quality problems with existing products.·         B.S./M.S. Degree in Engineering ·         5+ years product development engineering experience in an ACR related field . ·         Design engineering experience with computer aided design systems (Pro Engineer) ·         Proven people and project leadership skills. ·         Track record of design work on successfully launched products and/or commercialized processes. ·         Evidence of taking initiative and/or leadership on projects. ·         History of working independently and as a member of a cross-functional team. ·         Effective planning/organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task and set priorities. ·         Experience indicating strong project management skills (MS Project knowledge preferred). ·         Evidence of strong problem solving skills including identifying problems, potential problems, and developing solutions for smooth workflow. ·         Effective interpersonal skills, especially communication, and success working in a team environment across multiple time zones and cultures. ·         Strong creativity and innovation background ·         Travel 40% both domestic and international.     Preferred Qualifications: Consumer Products Industry Experience   Newell Rubbermaid and its Business Units are Equal Opportunity Employers and comply with applicable employment laws.
