Job Description: Trelleborg Coated Systems US, Inc. is searching for a Senior Scientist. This high-energy individual will be responsible for conducting product and process development activities in support of Trelleborg global printing product businesses. Based in Spartanburg, South Carolina this position is responsible for establishing, designing and conducting research projects in support of strengthening and growing the core businesses of Trelleborg. Specific technical areas of responsibilities will include: chemical formulations, raw materials selection and testing (rubber and rubber compounds, fabrics, polymers with particular reference to polyurethanes), coating processes (spreading, extrusion, calendering) application knowledge, development of relevant structure-property-performance relationships, product testing and testing methods, transfer of technology from lab/conceptual stage to manufacturing operations, benchmarking our products and processes, and technology protection via patent applications.
Also responsible for supporting Manufacturing and Sales/Marketing, customer interactions, and customer needs. Will support technology groups in USA, Italy, France and China as well as domestic functions.
Requirements include a Ph.D, industrial experience, and knowledge of rubber/polymer compounding and processing.
